Not for the faint of heart this Lapsang Souchong Black Tea. A tea with full-bodied, smoky flavour and a reddish liquor. Great on a cold damp winter's night. Winston Churchill's favourite black tea was Lapsang Souchong Tea. He was also fond of Johnnie Walker Red Label, Champagne Pol Roger and Cuban cigars. Legend has it Lapsang Souchong is the tea of Sherlock Holmes as well. Lapsang Souchong is noted for its rich aromas and flavours which include pine resin, wood smoke, smoked paprika, hints of dried Longan fruit, and the evocation of peated wh*skey.

Peter's Pick

There is a love hate relationship with most people for the taste and aroma of Lapsang. The strong smokey properties of Lapsang bring these emotions into play very quickly. Although never being a true fan of Lapsang I can enjoy it from time to time.

Our distinct following for Lapsang all tell us that it is best enjoyed on a cold damp day (same as a bonfire) and that is when it is most appreciated and enjoyed.

If you haven't tried it proceed with caution, you may love it or hate it, there seems to be no middle ground.Steep as you would any China Black tea
