Darjeeling

It is very hard to describe the taste in words, but it is easy to recognize the taste once you are familiar with it. Unlike most Indian teas, Darjeeling tea is normally made from the smaller leaf Chinese variety of Camellia sinensis var. sinensis, rather than the large-leaved Assam plant (Camellia sinensis var. assamica). Darjeeling tea is usually made as black tea. We have listed 2 other teas here, from Sikkim and Nepal because they borderon Darjeeling and have similar tastes.
