Our comments on taste

Almost tasteless. It's the gel-like consistency that offends people!

Why we say its great

Slippery Elm contains a type of soft fiber called mucilage that gently helps with bowel movements and irritations. The Indians of NA used it as a food during the winter months years ago.

Since slippery elm bark (Ulmus rubra) is a food product, there is no upper limit on dosage, although about 2 tablespoons (10 grams) of the herb is the minimum amount that produces noticeable effects when used for tea infusions or poultices. Up to 5 tablespoons (15 grams) of slippery elm bark can be dissolved in a cup (240 ml) of water. Avoid taking it with other medications, as the mucilage can prevent proper absorption. Make sure to drink lots of water with slippery elm bark powder or capsules.
